Happy Belly Holidays

If you're like me, you've been looking forward to Thanksgiving since August.

Here are some of my go-to tips for enjoying all of your holiday favorites without the food hangover:

1. START YOU DAY WITH MOVEMENT. Go for a walk. Do some yoga. Whatever you do, just get your body moving.

2. EAT MIDDAY. If you can, try to get the majority of your feasting in before 4:00 when your metabolism is still running strong.

3. DRINK GINGER TEA 30 MINUTES BEFORE YOUR BIG MEAL. I love fresh ginger root tea, but if I'm not in my own kitchen, I'll bring along some Traditional Medicinals Ginger Aid.

4. FOCUS ON FRESH, COOKED VEGGIES. Aim to fill at least half of your plate with colorful cooked veggies, like green beans, carrots, brussel sprouts, squash, or spinach.

5. DON'T BEAT YOURSELF UP. If grandma's pecan pie is your absolute favorite thing in life, don't deprive yourself! Enjoy it with gratitude, knowing you don't get this special treat every day.

And remember, at Thanksgiving, most of the food on your plate was made with love. This means lots of PRANA! Soak up that light and love, y'all!
