Ten Tips for Staying Cozy and Grounded During Vata Season

November is right around the corner. That means Vata season! Here are a few tips for staying cozy and grounded as the days get colder and the leaves begin to fall:

1. Eat warm and drink warm! That means hot tea, soups, casseroles, and curries.

2. Establish a regular morning and evening routine.

3. Keep warm! ALWAYS wear a hat and scarf on cold, windy days.

4. Wear warm, soft clothes made from cotton or other natural materials to create a buffer again Vata's dry, rough nature.

5. If you’re feeling depleted, try for a 20 to 30-minute afternoon nap.

6. Practice gentle yoga (restorative, slow flow, yin).

7. Meditate for five to ten minutes in the morning and/or evening.

8. Spend time in nature. Go for a walk. Feel the earth beneath your feet.

9. Turn off screens an hour before bedtime.

10. Get to bed before by 10:00 pm.
